Handstands

So I remember before I left America I was discussing with my friends (Jill and Leslie) on trying to come up with a consistent look, motion or symbol that I would do on my photos in my travels.  We came up mostly with lame/silly ideas including but not limited to the classic Asian peace symbols, flexing poses, stupid dance, etc and I just figured I’d come up with something when the time came.  Well the time came and the symbol is and forever will be the handstand (until I can’t anymore).
Why it’s good
A handstand is always interesting because it’s never the same, sometimes you fall, sometimes you’re straight and sometimes you mess up.  It makes the photo interesting without taking away from the scenery behind.  Who wants to just look at a photo where I do the same consistent boring pose?  And best yet, it always puts a smile on people’s faces who aren’t expecting you to do a handstand on a waterfall or at a temple (granted it might sometimes be taken as disrespectful).  We are fast, discrete and now well trained handstand ninjas.
So Baptiste and I tried to take one a day in the most interesting place of the day on our Southeast Asia trip.  Sometimes we would overestimate the day and nothing interesting happened after a certain site or situation.  Sometimes we would simply forget.  We tried hard to be proactive and not get lazy.  But I believe we got a decent variety of pretty awesome handstand pictures in a lot of places.  Good fun.  Hope you enjoy them.
